This month marks 10 years since MaPPs was first launched, and we're taking this opportunity to celebrate a decade of innovation in patient-friendly medication information.
Since our founding in 2015, MaPPs has grown from a small startup with a vision to improve medication information to a trusted resource used by healthcare organizations across the UK and beyond.
Some key milestones from our journey include:
- 2015: Launch of the first version of MaPPs with information for 100 commonly prescribed medications
- 2017: Introduction of MERLs to support patients with learning difficulties
- 2019: Launch of the WmD? portal for direct patient access
- 2021: Expansion to cover over 1,000 medications, including unlicensed medicines
- 2023: Introduction of multilingual support
- 2025: Launch of our mobile application
"When we started MaPPs, we had a simple goal: to make medication information more accessible to patients," said Professor Steve Bazire, co-founder and Director of Content. "It's incredible to see how far we've come and the positive impact we've had on patient care."
To celebrate this milestone, we'll be hosting a series of events throughout the year, including webinars, user meetups, and a special anniversary conference in September. We'll also be sharing stories from healthcare professionals and patients about how MaPPs has made a difference in their lives.
